Need your expertice yet again For 327 small block chev The fuel pump I currently have is a Carter and it wont go on because it fouls with the subframe rail Is there a smaller bodied one available. if its a safety thing, they make switches that run from dizzy to switch off fuel if engine stalls or fails (same as if LPG is fitted) you can also run better fuel filters with electrical, and they can be fitted in line, engine bay or inside fuel tank Title: Re: Mechanical fuel pump for SBC Post by: Harv on March 20, 2012, 05:21:17 AM I went electrical in the EK wagon for exactly that reason - fuel pump fouled the chassis rails. I'm running a Holley Red mounted midships, and the noise is annoying... makes me wish I had run mechanical. Needs more work to shut the thing up (perhaps deleting a muffler might help ;D).

I would rather mechanical to keep things simple but if I have no choice electric it will have to be. FC Hoon the pump on Ebay appears to be the same as I have (just pictured upside down) but there are some small bodied one's available on there also I might take the risk and get one, it would be great if anyone has used one to be able to gauge the clearance from sub frame rail Cheers Haydn |
