Title: Interstate Transport
Post by: rusty58 on February 03, 2012, 09:45:25 PM
Does anyone have any advice on the best way to get a non-runner FC from Adelaide to Melbourne?

Hire a trailer and get it, most reputable companies won't touch it, the ones that will are probably just after money and won't take care of it. I brought a "semi-runner" (rigged to start and drive on/off the trailer) over from NSW and it wasn't a good experience

I usually go and get mine with a car trailer. It's a bit of an adventure, Over the years I have done this at least a dozen times and only got into strife twice.

Once when a weld on my towbar partially failed (fixed next town)

And once when my tow car (EK Hydra-matic Wagon!) decided it had had enough half way up  Victoria Pass in the Blue Mountains, that was a bit sweaty :o, but eventually a kind soul passing in a F@#d Ute took pity on me and towed us up the rest of the way  :-[ EK, car trailer and car

I'm with Stinky, go and get it

Gary

Thanks guys, I would go and get it myself if I could but the logistics are tricky. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Gazrat?
