Title: crazy prices Post by: Not Happy Jan on January 29, 2012, 09:53:10 AM Did anyone see the two bumper bars that recently sold on ebay. They were in reasonably good condition.
One went for 590 and the other for 645??? :o :o. Am I off the mark or is that ridiculous ??? I think I stopped at 250. You could get them newly chromed for that price couldn't you! Its because there are so many pieces. An FE special has 12 pieces whilst an FC special has 11. At even $100 a piece - it adds up real quick. ::)
Ken Title: Re: crazy prices Post by: FCRB26 on January 29, 2012, 02:22:19 PM I was Quoted $600 each to chrome...

Title: Re: crazy prices Post by: Not Happy Jan on January 29, 2012, 04:58:10 PM Wow Thanks ken.. I knew chroming was expensive but didn't know it was that expensive. :o :oAt least for 600 they are freshly chromed and not got blemishes.
Should have held out Slim :D :D Title: Re: crazy prices Post by: fe350chev on January 29, 2012, 06:24:41 PM Ive been getting quotes and each bumper as Ken said would be minimum $600 and thats what the guy said would be an average job, he said show condition, including all the other bit over $1000 if I got them to do the bumpers properly. So I'd suggest you make friends with someone on a chroming forum!!! :D :D :D
But I think with this process, you actually do get what you pay for. You could do some of the work yourself to save bucks. or just get a second mortgage on the house. Title: Re: crazy prices Post by: slim on January 29, 2012, 11:48:24 PM or Buy nos bumpers then try finding an fc to put em on . ,, lol
Title: Re: crazy prices Post by: fe350chev on January 29, 2012, 11:50:33 PM it mite hold some of them together lol
Title: Re: crazy prices Post by: fcwrangler on January 30, 2012, 08:28:19 AM There's a rechromed bar on ebay $599 without the over riders, so maybe thats not a bad price. I was quoted around 4-5 years ago $110 per section.
