Title: Drag link
Post by: DN2168 on December 30, 2011, 01:00:33 PM
HI All,

I have just disassembled the drag link on the EH front end that I am going to put in the FC. when I pulled the cups out of the drag link there was bush inside the drag link, like a shim. My questions are, is the shim normally in there? and if not is an FC drag link the same as an EH one, as I have  an FC front end here I could get the drag link from.

I have  a rebuild kit from Rares & just want to do it once & do it right ;).

Dean.

There are originally 2 cup shaped shims in the draglinks - they are described as "covers" in the parts book. They are not included in the Rebuild kit as I believe they were considered unneccesary.
FC and EH drag links are the same. The only odd ones are FX/FJ which are longer.

I know when I inquired about a rebuild kit I was told they didn't come with dust covers which I couldn't figure out where they belonged but now it makes sense.
