Title: nickle plating in Melbourne
Post by: John253a on December 24, 2011, 01:10:52 PM
looking to nickle plate (not chrome) all my bars and trim,
rang around and there a few that still do it, but none that want to touch the die-cast stuff

my question is do any of you no any that's doing it, that you would recommend,

tried to get hold of geelong electroplating (as they seem to be well recommended) but due to christmas it think the may have close for the holidays

I thought Nickel Plating was the last step before Chrome in the Chrome Plating process  ???

Not sure how they do it
I just like the look over chrome,

Had some bars nickel plated in sunshine back in 02 sometime and wasn't happy with there quality,

According to the chap that did my plating there is a coat of copper first and if that won't remove all scratches when polished there is another coat of copper or more until all scratches are gone after polishing.  This is followed by a coat of Nickel then a coat of Chrome.
