Title: Tightening quarter vent. Post by: Not Happy Jan on December 08, 2011, 02:49:02 PM Is there a method to tighten up the quarter vent so it stays open when you are driving?? Mine keeps on swinging closed.

I took the time to take a pic for you. See where the bolt goes through, this clamps the shaft tighter to the rod and the hump think hold it there too. Maybe your bolt is loose or shaft is worn. the other one at the top just locates it and i dont think this end is your trouble. You probably need a new vent pivot kit. Ebay item number 160445831642 Regards ACE 8) Title: Re: Tightening quarter vent. Post by: mcl1959 on December 08, 2011, 05:24:14 PM More likely is that the spring which surrounds the vent window shaft is broken - very common. New springs are available from R/S
If you remove the bolt and trapezium shaped clamp you should find an intact spring as shown in the photo - I'm guessing you won't. Ken Title: Re: Tightening quarter vent. Post by: fe350chev on December 08, 2011, 05:30:35 PM a bit of silver solder would fill it out a bit if its not broken, but thats a bit of a dodgy way. ive seen worse, cardboard etc ha ha.
