Title: VP Wiper Motor Mod Problem Post by: FireKraka on November 29, 2011, 04:32:00 PM Hi Guys
I have just completed the VP wiper motor mod on my FC but have a problem with where the blades stop when I go to 'Park' so am wondering if anybody has had a similar problem and can offer a solution. I bought the correct switch and followed the wiring diagram that was posted using the original plug and wiring from the VP loom. I tested it by using my battery charger (my wiring is not fully completed in the car) connected through a wire to the switch (terminal B) and the negitive of the battery charger connected to the earth of the wiper motor the wiper arms move in the required arch across the windscreen but when I turn the switch to park the wiper blades stop in the vertical position instead of horizontal (looks really weird ha ha). Look forward to anybody's help. Regards Neil Title: Re: VP Wiper Motor Mod Problem Post by: FCRB26 on November 29, 2011, 05:13:09 PM Rotate arm off motor 90 degrees ???

Thanks again Regards Neil Title: Re: VP Wiper Motor Mod Problem Post by: FCRB26 on November 29, 2011, 06:39:44 PM You know when you have cocked up when one wipers up and one wipers down.
Title: Re: VP Wiper Motor Mod Problem Post by: FireKraka on December 01, 2011, 03:33:29 PM At least I had both of them going the same way I suppose.
I fixed the problem yesterday and ended up having to move the arm 180 deg. I also had to lengthen the linkage that goes to the drivers side control arm by about 5mm to get the wiper arm to move the same distance as the passenger side. My set-up is a bit different to the one showen in the pictures because I used the EK backing plate for the motor mount and the EK arm from the motor to the control arms a bit messy I suppose but all good now. Thanks again for the help FChoon Neil Title: Re: VP Wiper Motor Mod Problem Post by: CoolFCWgn on December 02, 2011, 12:41:33 PM Don't get caught like did using a battery charger for power , couldn't work out why the intermittent relay wouldn't work , apparently not enough power from the charger even though wipers would work ok.
