Title: FE Special Sedan
Post by: peterwmh on April 02, 2003, 03:33:52 AM
Hi all,

I came across an absolute gem today while driving around for work.  It was a very light green FE Special sedan.  Had a red/ivory interior which was in very good nick apart from some damage to the rear upright section of the seat.  Semed to be all there, looked as if it's been in a shed for years as the paint was good and the hornbutton a nice deep red colour.  Good chrome, very straight apart from a slight crease on the drivers front and rear door.  Had the optional indicators and appeared to have had the original radio but was not in place (might be in the boot??) Unfortunately the owner was nowhere to be found and this old timer sells cars from his front yard according to a neighbour, so I'm assuming it was also for sale.  It had no plates.  I wish I had had a digital camera with me as the yard was full of old chevs, fords, stationary engines, an FJ ute etc etc!!  It was located in Howlong NSW (on the Murray R), would anyone like me to chase this one up when I'm next passing through that way?

Cheers

Peter

Ahhh the 'bunnys', what a team!!  ;D   Well the green was very very light, in fact with a polish it may not be this light dusty green at all, maybe ivory??!!  ???  It looked good all the same.

As a mate of mine might say, "Souths couldn't win a footy game on Fantasy Island!"

;D

HI there,

If you drive into town, turn left just before the Shell servo, this takes you down to Victoria St which runs parallel to the main Rd into Howlong, turn right into Victoria St and drive down until you see a small blue sign to the caravan park, turn left here.  Drive down this street and veer left with the road, the FE was sitting in the front of the yard.  His name is Rex (the owner not the car!!).

It's worth a look!

So, is it for sale?

And if so how much?

And is there a contact number for this guy Rex? Sounds like a good car.

Sorry wasn't able to meet him when I drove past the other day as he was out.  A neighbour told me his name and said everything in his front yard was for sale, so I assume so.  Will try to get more details when I next drive by, probably next week.

Tried again yesterday to catch up with the old guy with the FE, however he still wasn't home.  The FE is gone though, replaced by a FJ ute in the front yard!!  Yackboy, you didn't buy that FE did you??  ::)

Hey there Pete,

checked out the place on Sunday,
drove around the yard and couldn't find anyone home.

The FE was not in the yard                     :'(
