Title: Fuel pump No vacuum Post by: moetstockie on August 22, 2011, 09:26:15 PM I have had some success with the petrol pump - vacuum ??? A chap here in Toowoomba showed me a fuel pump that looks just like mine (Old vacuum type) with no vacuum set up on the under side (thanks Cliff). We are pretty sure this came off a EK grey motor which makes sense as they had electric wipers. He also showed me a red motor pump that seems to have a much longer cam arm on it. Just by looking it seems the EK pump will do the job. Unsure if the red motor pump will do the job due to the size difference. Has anyone else got some ideas ??? Thanks Moe`t

How's the supply of preslite ek wiper motors going....any in stock so i can electrify my wipers or am I stuck with the after market option ? Cheers Moe`t ::)
Title: Re: Fuel pump No vacuum Post by: Harv on August 24, 2011, 10:35:08 PM Ken's right - the EK non-vacuum fuel pump had the same rocker arm that was used on the FE/FC pump (early FE had a different arm). The EK arm remained until mid-EK, then a new arm was introduced that was kept all the way through to HR. Short of it is that the red pumps (early EK or later EK-HR) all work on greys.
Cheers, Harv. Title: Re: Fuel pump No vacuum Post by: moetstockie on August 26, 2011, 03:58:15 PM Thanks Lads, I am now off to secure a pump. Getting oh so close.... Many thanks Moe`t
Title: Re: Fuel pump No vacuum Post by: moetstockie on August 30, 2011, 07:34:05 PM New red motor fuel pump in and working. However you do have to place the actuating arm above the cam lobe and not under as i did. However it did no damage which I was quite surprised. Thanks guys for the advice. :P
Title: Re: Fuel pump No vacuum Post by: moetstockie on October 10, 2011, 11:02:32 AM Ok I'm sure I was given advice to buy a new fuel pump but I purchased a cheap 2nd hand one that looked good. 800 miles later it gave up the ghost. So fortunately I was just down the road from Repco when my FE stopped and bought a newie and changed it on the side of the road. Old cars.....is that cool or what. Cheers Moe`t
