Title: Chassis Kit
Post by: wayne.c on August 20, 2011, 01:17:18 PM
Would there be some one on the forum with pics and dimensions of a chassis kit that i could fabricate for my Ute also what other strengthening would be required in the front end (RB30 develops about 600bhp).
Thanks for any advice.

WAYNE,I THINK THE BEST THING YOU COULD DO IS CONSULT A APPROVED ENGINEER.IN VIC MOST VICROADS  APPROVED ONES CONVERSE WITH MOST CAR CLUBS.
IF YOU JUMP ON THE''OZ RODDERS FORUM'' THEY SHOULD TELL YOUWHO'S OUT THERE IN YOUR STATE & WHO IS THE BEST FOR YOUR BUILD. ;D

i was gunna do an rb30 turbo but it comes in too big for a legal conversion in victoria, let me know if u intend on getting it registered in vic or if its a strip car pls as i have had numerous say 2.9ltrs is the cutoff so stuffed my plans. id probably go for a toyota twin turbo j motor now if going that direction but in have been thinking lexus v8 as same weight rule applies. there is a conversion place in adelaide that does 350's and they strengthen more than a rod shop kit, they do tell me (engineers) that if u stick to bolt on stuff, it may be easier to pass. Im going though same planning so this will be interesting discussion to have. just outa interest, what box u gunna run? auto or manual, probably better auto if boosted. might have to get it passed in sa and then re register here for me to go larger.
