Title: Seam Sealer??
Post by: Ed on July 11, 2011, 10:23:28 AM
Hi guys,

Im wondering if somebody can point me int eh right direction for seam sealer.

On my current project (Datsun 1200) I need to seal some exterior seams which are visible.

I have tried various seam sealers for other repair and the sealer is elastic, paintable and has a finish like silicon.  crap for exterior use good for underbody though.

In the past I have used a self levelling sealer which came in a small tube and was applied simply by finer and crept into joints and left an almost invisible paintable finish and you could smooth it up using thinners soaked rags.

I cant recall who made this latter product, or where I can get some. Most auto paint shops sell only the silicon or brush on style of sealer.

Can anybody recommend a good self levelling sealer?  Hope fully one which does not require an expensive caulking gun to apply as my google research suggests most are 2 part epoxy sealers?

Thanks

Ed
