Title: hr front end proplems

hi guys i have an fc ute i have installed an hr front end and have stayed with the old grey motor i used the fc out rigger and i have completely replaced the steering components with hr parts the problem is now the sump position is to low do i need to change the sump for some other model or do i alter the origanal all help would be greatly apprecated

Using the FC outrigger was your mistake - use an FB EK or EJ outrigger. It will get the engine at the right height. The HR steering gear does just touch the grey sump on full lock - it's better to use the FC steering gear if you have the grey engine, other wise you need to modify the sump a little bit.

What about an EH outrigger?

Hi Wayne,
I think it is because the EH was the first of the red motors and is not right for the mighty grey.

That's right - there is no front engine mount spot on an EH outrigger
