Title: Lonford Revival Festival
Post by: weddo on April 04, 2011, 01:12:14 PM
Judi and I just had a great weekend at the Longford Revival Festival with our No 53 Historic FC Race car.  Brilliant cars entered in the flying mile demonstration section and a fantastic array of cars on static display, great local food and wine and entertainment with bands and rock and roll dancers.

We saw the most amazing race cars from all eras, original drivers, original cars and bikes that raced at Longford through to priceless Porche LeMans Sauber C9 and Moby Dick whale tale.

Part of the event was fast runs down a section of the original "flying Mile" from a standing start over about 750 meters and vehicles doing in excess of 250 ks and a Suzuki Hayabusa at 295 ks and only 500 meters to pull up.

I was happy with my first pass on Friday of 143Ks, last pass on Saturday of 151ks and matched that yesterday with my last pass. Pretty good when there is a side wind and they handle like a brick at that speed.

Photos up when I get some time to down load them, and possibly a bit of footage if it works.

There seems to a bit of footage on youtube at the moment and a bit of our car in this one towards the end

Hope the link works

Weddo,

Would have been great to hear the old girl in full war cry at 151k's, I bet it felt great driving it at that speed
