Title: Window winder and Handle removal Post by: AndyJ on March 30, 2011, 05:49:17 PM Hi everyone,
I need to remove my Door lining, and while ago I saw a "tool" for removing the clips on the inside of the Winder and Door handles on Ebay. But is there any other tricks to getting these guys off? I don't want to mess up my lining by doing it wrong. thanks Andy Title: Re: Window winder and Handle removal Post by: fcdunedin on March 30, 2011, 06:14:30 PM I first saw this done @ a car wreckers and did the same myself
Get a rag and with the thickness of one piece slide it in between the handle and the door card and move it around 1 full cycle the rag will grab hold of the retaining clip and and move it enough to safely remove the handle. No damage to the trim when I used it.

Sometimes the clips go on the wrong way when replaced so you might need two gos to get them off. When the handles are removed use the bent end of the tool to remove the trim, slide it under the door trim then up to the retainer clip and pop them out. It should save your trims if you need to use them again later.
