Dianne.

I think that you will find that a 4-71 will be too big for a 149. the 3-53 blower or the 3-71 would be better. The numbering system that is used for the GM type (or roots type) for a 3-53 is 3 cylinders 53 cubic inches per cylinder. a 4-71 is 4 cylinders and 71 cubic inches per cylinder.

Alternatively either use a Toyota blower, I think that they came off a Supra.

As was fitted to FC 427's car before it was removed and sold on.

Alternatively there is are superchargers like the Eaton M90 as fitted to FCCOOL's car shown below:

Hope this helps

The Mate ran his old 202 to a 7.7 second quarter mile and holds the national title took it of a Rotary no Nissan in sight  ::) ::) not bad for an old taxi engine  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D.
Rev Head Chick have a look in General Technical about 12 posts down under heading "GETTING BLOWN" for my new 144 B&M set up .......FC427......

FC427 where is the proof  ??? I bet it could not be driven on the street though and would destruct very quicky whereby a 1j 2.5 or a rb 2.5 could be run over and over....and over...... I had excactly same thought as Hoon ,must have been a 1/8 mile.

If it was a blue with all the aftermarker heads and everything else u can buy for them, it doesnt look much like a holden anymore. What car was it in? Are u sure it was 7.7, must be over 1000hp or something cos evert .5 seconds under 8.5 ius very hard to achieve.

Ure pulling our legs and were taking the bait! Are u sure your no meaning o-100km/h  :D (just kiding by the way).

Your nearly as funny as Hoon  ;D ;D ;D 1/8 mile  ;D ;D ;D I was at the start line when Joe ran the 7second pass and then backed it up two more times to clam the National title if you are a disbeliever check the ANDRA records ......Rigoli and Ramsey  is working on an RB set up with almost 50 Lbs of boost to go in it should make 1500 HP + easy ;D ;D  but just lets compare Apples with Apples and remember how old the Holden 6 technology is and what an achievement it is to run a Holden 6 in to the 7 second zone .......FC427.......

This is a methanol motor and hardly a holden part left on it  :D. im talking about cars doing good times with something that will pass for a street legal car. Anyway, Im not really a fanm of this or that motor, i think it depends on what you are building. fastest isnt always best.

I have seen a FC wagon 202 turbo,d a few years ago and that was the nicest sound i have ever heard i ran a high tem from memory but i thought you would be pushing to do a 7

Even the rails running blue sixes werent going that hard.

Im all for any engine i just like the reliability and smooth no fart cold running of a jap motor...

Settle petals beats walking...

Dianne, have you thought about what compression ratio and fuel you will be running, i.e will you be running high octane unleaded or additives? I would be interested if anyone on here has a bit of a table of what compression ratios work with what level of pressures/ boost whatever u wanna call it etc?

i just wanna run it on the street and still be able to give it a squirt now and then, it will be on unleaded and the valve stem seals will be done to take unleaded with no additives. As for compression it will be 8 to 1 compression high induction intake (hopefully im right). Basically its gonna be a 149 block with a 179 hp head on top if that works.

thats sounds awesome. i wonder how much hotter the engine would run, i suppose it depends on if your going up hill and load etc. it will be interesting to hear from others what they did i relation to the cooling system or whether the normal set up works?

i agree i wouldnt want to put a big 5 core radiator in there but if it has to be done then i got no choice. yes i would like to get some feedback on that also..

It's been made to accept the pressure plate from  an EVO  turbo 4 wheel drive should be able to handle the Blown Holden 6 easy oil pump has a starfire filter adaptor to clear the steering shaft pump is just a JP hi volume .....FC427.....
