Title: Possibly just acquired a FC Wagon Post by: Cykasm on March 11, 2011, 10:54:54 AM Hi all,
Just in the process of getting a FC Wagon. Will be my first project car. The Wagon isn't in the greatest shape but seems sound, got a mate checking it out mechanically this Sunday. First test drive will be an 8 hour drive from Sydney to get it to my place in Melb (Maybe a disaster, but will be interesting either way.) Has anyone had their FC rego'd in Vic since the new laws come into place? I assume the stability control laws only focus on new cars. I am a novice at this, I've been reading bits and pieces through this forum and loving the resources available here. Hopefully in the coming months will become an active member. Thanks for putting this site together. Title: Re: Possibly just acquired a FC Wagon Post by: customFC on March 11, 2011, 01:14:15 PM Congrats on the new project.
I hope it turns out to be all you expected and more. Good luck with the trip home. Looking forward to seeing the pics. ;) Regards Alex Title: Re: Possibly just acquired a FC Wagon Post by: Wayne on March 11, 2011, 01:36:44 PM Hi
Where abouts is the wagon in Sydney WAYNE Title: Re: Possibly just acquired a FC Wagon Post by: Cykasm on March 11, 2011, 01:40:11 PM It is the blue one that has been for sale for awhile.
Holsworth I think. I'm just hoping it isn't too big of a project to take on for a first timer. Title: Re: Possibly just acquired a FC Wagon Post by: fe350chev on March 11, 2011, 01:48:09 PM Well done, just check the steering joints and brakes etc before going such a long way. Was it a daily drive prior to picking it up. If not, my steering was very weak. Cos i am going to do a rack conversion anyway i knocked one of the joint with a big hammer and they broke very easily so be careful mate. I like the word "acquired" too. It sound like a better word to tell the missus when i go buy stuff ha ha. ;D :D
I just bought my first FE in December. I have been talking to an engineer this week. ??? He told me: Cannot go over 4.4 litre NA engine or 2.9 turbo etc :o Can go for any engine that has emmissions and can do whatever u like as ADR on emmissions is not applicable U just have to go and get normal roadworthy, but must have a grey motor, any other motor, even a 149 will have to be engineered from now on. ;), but if u have bought one with engineers from another state it can be registered on that engineers cert. 8) He told me he is working by the new laws, if he doesn't do the right thing, it looks bad on him etc. :( Get ready to get dirty ha ha. Title: Re: Possibly just acquired a FC Wagon Post by: Cykasm on March 11, 2011, 02:03:29 PM Just built a new house, so the garage is still relatively empty.
Will soon have a remedy for that though I feel. It has been a daily driver, and just had its Road Worthy done. If it is running well I might drive it for awhile to get a feel for it. Then lock it up and start learning the hard way how little I know about them. Title: Re: Possibly just acquired a FC Wagon Post by: fe350chev on March 11, 2011, 02:15:20 PM ha ha, well this is my first one, at least u can drive yours and its roadworthy, thats better than a lot ive seen on here, have a look at mine! Search for "breton blue fewithrb30" under vehicles under construction. i am getting sick of when i work inside the car with tools and they keep falling through the floor and hitting me on the head under the car! Thats how big my holey floor is lol.

I know the car you are talking about it is next suburb away from me.When are you picking it up.There is a lot of to be done on it WAYNE Title: Re: Possibly just acquired a FC Wagon Post by: Cykasm on March 11, 2011, 03:41:48 PM I've got a mate checking it out on Sunday, so will know if I'm getting it after that.
What sort of work am I looking at? Interior or full of rust? I know it is missing chrome on one of the back panels. I haven't seen the detailing on the interior though. It is hard to tell what condition it is in from the pictures I've seen. I will be heading down in a fortnight or so depending on the result of Sunday. Title: Re: Possibly just acquired a FC Wagon Post by: Wayne on March 12, 2011, 09:00:08 AM Hi
There is rust in the usal spots interior is going to need to be redone. If you want to look good it will need a complelte rebuild WAYNE Title: Re: Possibly just acquired a FC Wagon Post by: Champ58FC on March 12, 2011, 11:11:51 AM Good luck with the new "Acquired" FC wagon ;)
