bit off history, i have owned Fc since late 2006 i was 17. brought it from Sydney of couple who had it 8 years, they brought of gentleman whom had 6 months, he brought off the original owners estate. paint was very well worn off roof bonnet and boot from being stored under tarp. originally purchased from crows nest sydney. i got it bare metal re sprayed in 2007 including dash board and door trim to match original colours. due to being young and money run short not until 2010 did i get all chrome trim and stainless, in grill ect chromed or polished. that is where it is now. over next couple weeks i will remove motor to get rebuilt by local older mechanic and painted proper grey colour. from there plan is to put the alloy tappet cover on get manifold restored and put re built carbs on. also fit the nasco bee hive style heater and trico wash bottle. thanks for looking. cheers matt ;D Title: Re: walcha fc Post by: jack_fc on February 01, 2011, 07:09:13 PM Very nice car, Matt! 8) (and it's great to hear of a 'young' bloke proudly and enthusiastically into an FE/FC; some of us old farts need to stirred up a bit by some new young blood sometimes! ;)) Please keep us informed of your progress :) cheers, jack Title: Re: walcha fc Post by: Old_Mt_Isa_Boy on February 01, 2011, 08:19:46 PM Great treasure Matt, thats a great start. Title: Re: walcha fc Post by: Johns on September 25, 2011, 06:56:31 AM Nice car and a great job Matt.
All the single tone - non black - FCs I've seen were built in 58, its unusual to find a single tone 59. I suspect that Sydney, at least, did a run of single tone cars very early in FC production, perhaps before they had finalised all their processes for two tone production. Matt what are the body and chassis nos for yours? Ken may have a view on this. Cheers John Title: Re: walcha fc Post by: critto on October 01, 2011, 06:37:08 PM Hi all
