Title: Computers
Post by: Wayne on December 09, 2010, 12:11:33 PM
Hi All
Thought I would let you know if you are thinking of buying a new computer DO NOT BUY ACER PRODUCTS. The after sales service is terrable been having trouble with my computer for about 6 weeks every time you ring have to wait for ever to get on then get somebody who can not speak or understand english and get info wrong. Then they can not find your info. Do not respond to your complaint as promised. When you finally get things worked out have a long wait for them to pick up your computer to repair it

I prefer to buy from the smaller local "no name" suppliers, there are some reputable ones out there. Although they don't supply a 24 hour helpdesk you usually get value for money and the warranty is generally for the same period.

No end of trouble.....threw it in the bin after about a year.

we had a acer as well shagged itself not a very nice computer at all.

at the workshop i run 3 HP laptops and a dell over the internet job awesome fast computer  and a quadcore Z400 HP which is the most recent addition its super fast would highly reccomend it we run a lot of big drawing programs and a 70cm screen its the best drawing computer i have ever  used all are networked to the water jet and engraver purchased off the local bloke.

I have only had dealings with Dell once and it was so easy just click what you want and 5 days later it showed up was very impressed with their service.

i wouldn't see out my mid life crisis any other way - I am nearly 35  ::) and the computer gives me reason to stay away from the missus lol. Warm nights in shed, cold nights on computer looking at forums etc...

a lot of people are going mac hey, and they rave about them. But i still think if surfing the net and a few emails is all you do, then windows is ok. I think design applications etc are out of this world though for mac.
