Title: Headlight problem
Post by: fe on November 20, 2010, 11:08:17 AM
Hi
I have an 1956 Fe Holden ,recently while driving the headlights started to turn themselves on and off
I checked all connections and fiddled with the light switch but I now notice its always blinking ,when you first turn them on the lihjts stay on for about a minute then they start blinking randomly
Avery strange problem
I thought maybe the dipper switch is faulty but dont know
any ideas
Graeme ::)

G'day Graeme,
The is a set of contacts on the back of the headlight switch that need cleaning.
I usually use some fine wet and dry sandpaper and a rag.
Hope this Helps,

Sounds like the thermal circuit breaker on the light switch that warns of a potential wiring "issue"? Something is probably wrong with the light wiring.
My Galaxie used to do the same thing if I ran the high-beam for too long.
