ok, not really sure where to start, but my name is Murph i have just purchased a 1959 fc from Adelaide, i have always like the classic holdens starting with my first car a EH. but to be honest i am not much of a mechanic. the FC i have purchased has a red 202, HR front end, 5 speed celica geerbox, electric fuel pump and disc brakes as far as i can tell..... i have managed to get the car roadworthy and on the road but it has some serious body issues i think as it floats all over the place when traveling over 60km.... i don't mind getting my hands dirty, but don't really have the knowledge to do most of the work needed. i am based in brunswick, victoria and i guess just looking for someone who knows of a good mechanic, that knows these cars, is reasonable with pricing and works for cash....

Try P. Greenough mechanics in Preston. Top guys and they might help you out.Very experienced mechanics.
Tell them Han suggested you go to them first for any FC problems  ;) 8)

Perhaps you might want to find out if the stub axles are the correct type fitted to the front, as I know people who put Torana ones in who struggled with handling because I think the castor or camber may go all up the shit if you use those and in Adelaide they often do very bodgy work (people because they don't get inspected each time a car is sold) and don't know this. It is most likely worn parts or a castor issue if it is floating all over the road at higher speed. Does it scrub tyres? I don't think it would have much to do with the actual body structure itself, unless it was really bad. A good way to start is to get your mechanic to identify what brake calipers you have on the front and what diff you are running at the rear and let us all know the result.  ;D or post up some pics if you don't have the resource of a mechanic and I am sure some of us could let you know what you have got.
