Title: Lost nuts :(
Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on October 16, 2010, 04:19:44 PM
What are the (sensible) options when a captive nut is lost?
One of the rear bumper mount nuts is gone, as I see it I can either cut and shut another from one of my wrecks or cut a slot and leave it open to fit a normal nut.

Nutserts
make sure you fit a knurled one not the plain finish ones.

Also only use a pneumatc tool or ratchet type one dont use a hand one it wont pull it up properly.
Most sheetmetal places or switchbord manufacturers have them.
Where are you situated?

Ask mechanic shops or someone if they deal with Wurth products the german supplier
they have a neat ratchet type nutsert kit they might let you borrow it to fit a couple.
