I'll bite Weddo, can't help with the bearing bridges but where did you find the Repco Highpower head set up  ???

They still make them for sidevalve F##D you might be lucky and the bolt centers might be the same  ??? ???.......FC427......

Hi Garry,

I don't know of any others that are for sale at the moment. I can't divulge where I puchased mine as agreed with the vendor, but will later on when the project is complete.

I can tell you that the head is complete, came with extractors (will need to refabricate to suit FC) inlet manifold to suit twin barrel side draft solex S40, and two solex side draft carbs. Need some minor refurbishing to the head ie hardend seats, maybe valve guides as a precaution and same with rocker arm sleeves. I will need to adjust the mountings for the carbs as they are not original.

I'm also after some bearing bridges, plus mild cam,with alloy gear !!!

To all those that are looking for bearing bridges, one alternative that used to be quite common amongst the speedway fraternity was to machine the bearing caps level with the bolt face and then fit ( IIRC) 1 and 1/4 x 1 and 1/2 steel blocks on the caps with longer bolts.

This stiffened up the bottom end and stopped the cast bearing caps from stretching. Another more expensive alternative was to get some steel main bearing caps (which were also available aftermarket) and have them machined to suit the engine.

the bearing bridges in my other grey are hand made out of a solid block should not be to hard to make this old grey I have was an ex speedway engine
