Title: 1959 FC Holden Special Sedan.
Post by: dnb on August 29, 2010, 01:47:55 PM
After a lot of thought I have decided to sell the Old Girl.
This is a lovely original car with about 69,000 miles showing on speedo.
While there are no books to confirm mileage, the overall condition indicates this is genuine mileage.
You can check out more photos by opening the link below, there is a good selection of photos there to give a good all over view of this car.
This may not be the best FC Holden for sale but it is a lovely example of the model and has loads of character.
She has original number plates and will be sold registered till 28/07/2010 and will have a currant Victorian RWC.
If the car is sold close to my asking price I will include a number of items to use when being displayed. This will include a number of motoring magazines and Womens Day mags from 1958 yo 1960, along with 1957 street directory and assorted other books etc.
I'll also include an old Gladstone bag, a 1950 brief case and old Brownie camera as well as a number of spare parts for the car.
I am looking for about $12,500 for this car and I think that is very reasonable.
If anyone is interested in this lovely old girl please send a message with a contact number and I will call you as soon as possible.
If not sold here I will either list it in the next club newsletter or put her on E-bay.
Thank's for looking, Darcy

I'm far from an authority (very far) but Darcy that car is unreal value at the asking price mate.

If it was an FB or EK it would have some crazy man's price on it.

Well done on your finishing touches - Slim is getting a VERY nice car by the looks of things !!!!!!!!!!!!

Slim drove home fro melbourne in a god damn TROPICAL MONSOON .. The FC Soldiered on thru all mother nature could throw at her and the only casualty was that it lost its Dipstick somewhere along the trip. A good detail and she will be as good as new .. And She Is NEAR NEW.... WOW WHAT A CAR.... GOD really directed me to that one.... Straight from a funeral thursday afternoon , to a wake , to MELBOURNE in TEARS... And back to SYDNEY FOR a Visit to OLD DADS GRAVE ... TALK about an Emotional Trip , And a way to get attached to a car very Quickly .. Thanks Darcy for being a man of your Word .. CHEERS SLIM

Slim, after I read you message something clicked and I checked the garage and there was the dipstick sitting on top of a box. I checked the oil and water Friday night and added a drop of oil, didn't put stick back as I wanted to check level again and totally forgot it....
I'll put it in a bag when I get time and post it up.
Cheers, Darcy

Slim,

The van was in the Birdwood Museum for 3 months back in 2007 in a club display to promote the 2008 nationals.
