Title: Blue 202 with A/C Post by: colt on August 24, 2010, 04:20:02 PM Has anyone got a Blue 202 with the original A/C bracket? Is the A/C compressor bracket part of the alternator bracket? Or are they on different sides of the engine?

Title: Re: Blue 202 with A/C Post by: colt on August 24, 2010, 09:25:50 PM This is what I am getting at: the standard Holden alternator brackets break (I mean the top one), they also break the mounting bolt at the water pump. I have been told the blue motor alternator/Ac bracket uses two bolts at the motor rather than one, therefore spreading the load, also not relying on one bolt.
I am after an alternator bracket that uses two bolts onto the motor. If there is a Holden one readily available I would use it, before I modify mine. I already have two standard alternator brackets welded together at the top, I am trying to strengthen where it bolts to the motor. Colin. Did they make a top alternator bracket which also would have been the bottom bracket for the A/C comp. If so, which engine should I be looking for.

Title: Re: Blue 202 with A/C Post by: FC427 on August 24, 2010, 09:52:10 PM Blue Black engines have an extra mounting point cast on to the block about level with the water pump but it is not used for adjusting the alternator ... Colin Can't you just make a mount that picks up the 3/8" bolt on the thermostat housing and supports the original mount on the water pump so to take the load of the 5/16" water pump bolt or go up to a grade 8 bolt ??? ....FC427.....
