Title: floor change to colum change
Post by: kiwi FC on August 23, 2010, 06:37:35 PM
My fc has a 186 engine with what i am told is a three speed torrana gearbox and so has been converted to floor change with a toyota hilux seat to allow for the gear stick . I want to put the original seat back in and put her back to column change but the configuration of the column doesn't match that of the gearbox and so was wondering if anyone knew of an addapter part I could buy as they seem to be available for a column to floor conversion
cheers ???

Whats the advantage of the turd runner box over a grey motor one are they all syncro or something?

would almost be easier to fit the old grey crash box.

Im sure someone will have a solution.

i have run this combination in my FE and still run the bench seat. What shifter are you using? shifter lever could be rebent tnallow fittment. ther is  a thread in the modification section that covers relocating the entire shifter assembly further forward on the gearbox  hope this is of some help Simon Addison

thanks for the feed back im unsure what kind of shifter it is but would rather make it colum change than move the floor shifter and as for putting the grey box back in I was told it wouldnt handle the 186 :-\
