Would love to hear a bit more about the car/build.....and of course more pictures too! Title: Re: new member Post by: FCRB26 on July 28, 2010, 04:54:31 PM Looks hot as.
Is it tubbed to the rails or does it have a rear chassis clip fitted. Pete Title: Re: new member Post by: Old_Mt_Isa_Boy on July 28, 2010, 08:20:10 PM Looks great, nice engine choice.
Regards Wayne Title: Re: new member Post by: EffCee on July 28, 2010, 08:33:18 PM Great looking car, well done, and welcome to the forum
Keith Title: Re: new member Post by: fcvwking on July 28, 2010, 08:52:33 PM To tubb the car i installed a box tubing chassis from front to back and then cut rear rails and moved them in to intergrate into the box tubing rail.
I then raised the boot floor to make it flat on top of the chassis rail and then constructed a stainless fuel tank at approx 70 litres.Have kept the car registered all this time!. Have learnt a huge amount doing this car and the only good thing in taking so long is that i have had plenty of time to source spares. The sub frame was a new old stock but it has no chassis/vin no stamped on it. (http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad278/psking43/IMG_0493.jpg) will take a few more photos of the tubbs when i get the chance. (http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/ad278/psking43/IMG_0492.jpg) thanks for the kind words kingy. Title: Re: new member Post by: snuff69 on July 28, 2010, 09:20:53 PM Very Nice ::) ::) What's the inside look like? Dave
Title: Re: new member Post by: Penguin on July 28, 2010, 09:31:18 PM Very nice Kingy. You have good taste in cars mate. I also have an FC sedan an a VW splitscreen.
Title: Re: new member Post by: FCRB26 on July 29, 2010, 06:22:32 AM Sounds great i am at the tubbing stage its on the rotissere i have installed new tunnel ect but i am running a 4 link again i had one in it before i stripped it but am changing coil spring rate and newer shock.
i am running a VN diff chopped down with billet axles. I am confident with doing everything except tubbs. Title: Re: new member Post by: pedro on July 29, 2010, 07:09:30 AM Nice looking FC there Kingy, love those meaty tyres on the back 8) 8)

Car looks awesome, a real credit to you. Dean. Title: Re: new member Post by: Ed on July 29, 2010, 08:31:19 AM Nice car Kingy!
FcHoon, Im sure you can tub your car, would be pretty easy for you considering all the other nice stuff you can make. Cheers Ed Title: Re: new member Post by: FCRB26 on July 29, 2010, 11:10:37 AM Its just doing that first cut.
;D Title: Re: new member Post by: EffCee on July 29, 2010, 07:04:14 PM Its just doing that first cut. ;D Hold the breath, pick up the angle grinder, pass the stubby to a mate, and say, here hold this and watch this for skill..... ;D Seriously, with what you have demonstrated on the forum, I am quite sure that you have the ability to do the work. I have found that no matter what project I start it is always the same. As you say it just that first cut...... Measure twice, or even three times, cut once, saves a lot of welding ;) Good luck with it. Keith Title: Re: new member Post by: customFC on July 29, 2010, 09:25:20 PM Wow.
Nice FC. Must feel good to be so close to driving the wheels off it!! Regards Alex Title: Re: new member Post by: fe350chev on December 09, 2010, 09:06:29 PM This sort of shit is inspirational guys, I am just about to take to my barn find FE with a spanner (and perhaps some more brutal apparel) very soon. What do people think of making up or using a full chassis if upgrading to a strong motor rather than putting in CRS type bracing?
Title: Re: new member Post by: Ol_Girl_58 on December 09, 2010, 11:16:22 PM Awesome car, Kingy. Love the tubs 8)
What is the name of the colour? Is it a factory shade? Kind regards, Ol_Girl_58 Title: Re: new member Post by: fcvwking on December 16, 2010, 08:57:07 PM sorry old girl i dont know the color i just asked the paint shop to copy the colors off a trax model 59 fc
interior has been started and i will post pics in the new year merry xmas! Title: Re: new member Post by: Ol_Girl_58 on December 17, 2010, 07:10:17 AM Thanks for the reply, Kingy.
The reason that I ask is because I'm almost at the paint stage with my FC and I am chasing inspiration for a factory looking green. Your green is very cool. Cheers, Ol_Girl_58 Title: Re: new member Post by: Stewy on December 17, 2010, 05:11:36 PM Hi,If the Trax model is TR13L the colours are Forrester Green / Ice Green. and are indeed genuine factory colours. :)
Cheers Stewy. Title: Re: new member Post by: pop on January 27, 2011, 08:22:21 PM G,day.....love it, love it, love it. My first car was a "C" like yours, same green up front, but a white on top and rear. Had been stored for 10 years before I got my licence, 7's up front & 8's on the rear. So low that you couldn't drive over a match box standing on it's end. the old man worked at repco back then, so you can guess what happened. At the moment I have a modified fc station sedan & my grand pops fb ute. Spotted the sun visor, hope your going to keep it. More pic's and updates please because I'm sure I,m not the only one that's in love...Rubber & low to go, go, go.......POP.

Congrats on completing her.
You put together a beautiful combination. Enjoy!!! Regards Alex Title: Re: new member Post by: surferboy on June 06, 2011, 02:29:17 PM Love the Lokar shifter 8)
Was it an easy fit ? I'm running a 202 and trimatic I was thinking about pulling out the BIG shiny B&M shifter during my rebuild and opting for the cooler more 'traditional' looking Lokar (and putting in a dummy clutch pedal just to confuse the onlookers ;D) Nice Car :D surferboy 8) 8) 8) Title: Re: new member Post by: TTV6FC on June 06, 2011, 05:25:53 PM Congratulations mate, what an awesome looking car! 8)
Title: Re: new member Post by: Old_Mt_Isa_Boy on June 06, 2011, 05:38:58 PM The car looks fantastic. Well done :) Hope you get many hours of enjoyment out of her.

Title: Re: new member Post by: fcvwking on June 07, 2011, 10:22:13 AM Lokar shifter was for a turbo 350 cable operated.
All that needed to be done was a longer arm on the selector shaft to get the full movement. Title: Re: new member Post by: Ol_Girl_58 on June 07, 2011, 04:14:36 PM Beautiful FC, Kingy.
Maybe it's just my monitor, but the pictures on the first page make the car look a lighter shade of green compared to the photos on your flickr account. Still, looks cool. Where have you dumped the exhaust? Cheers, Ol_Girl_58 Title: Re: new member Post by: fcvwking on June 08, 2011, 11:48:33 AM 2 1/4 inch exhaust finishes just after diff i didnt like the look of a pipe sticking out back
Title: Re: new member Post by: Ed on June 08, 2011, 04:14:40 PM nice build.. looks great.
