Looks hot as.

Is it tubbed to the rails or does it have a rear chassis clip fitted.

To tubb the car i installed a box tubing chassis from front to back and then cut rear rails and moved them in to intergrate into the box tubing rail.
I then raised the boot floor to make it flat on top of the chassis rail and then constructed a stainless fuel tank at approx 70 litres.Have kept the car registered all this time!. Have learnt a huge amount doing this car and the only good thing in taking so long is that i have had plenty of time to source spares. The sub frame was a new old stock but it has no chassis/vin no stamped on it.
will take a few more photos of the tubbs when i get the chance.

thanks for the kind words
kingy.

Its just doing that first cut.

Its just doing that first cut.

 ;D

Hold the breath, pick up the angle grinder, pass the stubby to a mate, and say, here hold this and watch this for skill..... ;D

Seriously, with what you have demonstrated on the forum, I am quite sure that you have the ability to do the work. I have found that no matter what project I start it is always the same. As you say it just that first cut......

Measure twice, or even three times, cut once, saves a lot of welding ;)

Good luck with it.

Keith

This sort of shit is inspirational guys, I am just about to take to my barn find FE with a spanner (and perhaps some more brutal apparel) very soon. What do people think of making up or using a full chassis if upgrading to a strong motor rather than putting in CRS type bracing?

Awesome car, Kingy. Love the tubs  8)

What is the name of the colour? Is it a factory shade?

Kind regards,

Thanks for the reply, Kingy.

The reason that I ask is because I'm almost at the paint stage with my FC and I am chasing inspiration for a factory looking green. Your green is very cool.

Cheers,

Ol_Girl_58

Hi,If the Trax model is TR13L the colours are Forrester Green / Ice Green. and are indeed genuine factory colours. :)

Cheers Stewy.

G,day.....love it, love it, love it. My first car was a "C" like yours, same green up front, but a white on top and rear. Had been stored for 10 years before I got my licence, 7's up front & 8's on the rear. So low that you couldn't drive over a match box standing on it's end. the old man worked at repco back then, so you can guess what happened. At the moment I have a modified fc station sedan & my grand pops fb ute. Spotted the sun visor, hope your going to keep it. More  pic's and updates please because I'm sure I,m not the only one that's in love...Rubber & low to go, go, go.......POP.

Love the Lokar shifter   8)

Was it an easy fit ?
I'm running a 202 and trimatic

I was thinking about pulling out the BIG shiny B&M shifter during my rebuild and opting for the cooler more 'traditional' looking Lokar (and putting in a dummy clutch pedal just to confuse the onlookers  ;D)

Nice Car  :D

Lokar shifter was for a turbo 350 cable operated.
All that needed to be done was a longer arm on the selector shaft to get the full movement.

Beautiful FC, Kingy.

Maybe it's just my monitor, but the pictures on the first page make the car look a lighter shade of green compared to the photos on your flickr account. Still, looks cool.

Where have you dumped the exhaust?

Cheers,

Ol_Girl_58
