Title: Crossmember shimming
Post by: Mc Bean on June 15, 2010, 05:38:06 PM
Questions #37 & #38

Is the shimming of the front crossmember rubbers as crucial as stated in the workshop manual, And how much would it effect the steering characteristics if not at all. ?

Cheers Andy.

I think it is the castor adjustment. If the shimming is not right then the castor adjustment can be difficult to obtain.

Thanks ken,

I,ll set it up by the manual.

Can not belief how complicated these old front ends are, I can see why a lot of people change to latter front ends.
