Title: What type of oil for grey motor ?
Post by: Sam Muscat on April 19, 2010, 07:55:51 PM
Just wondering what grade and brand of oil people are using out there for there grey motor.
I am currently using Valvoline 20/50W or should I be looking at using a straight grade oil, if so what grade and what brand of oil?
Thanks,
Sam

According to an experiment done by a major car company the best oil to use besides royal purple that leaves the inside of the engine clean and without that grease type sludge build up. The oil they reccomend for the grey is called CLASSIC MEDIUM. Gearbox is MAN. GEAR LIGHT.

Penrite do a "classic" range of oils, made to old formulas from "back in the day".

The key to a Grey is, whatever oil you use CHANGE IT REGULARLY, then you won't get the sludge build up. Or if you are rebuilding a Grey motor and want it to last forever, put a proper flow through oiling system on it. There is alot of work to set it up but when it is done it is well worth it.
