Hi Dianne,

Hard work always produces great results.
Did the wheels come with the car ? Could you let me know tyre size and brand and wheel manufacturer if possible. I need to replace the 1995 185/75R13's Olympic steelflexes on my old girl but the tyre shops tell me they dont make these sizes any more. I'm thinking of going up to a 14x6's with a taller tyre closer to the original crossply diameter. I like painted wide rims with hub caps and dress rings.

Cheers

Mark

Hi Di,

I am new here too, and I am about to buy my second FC tomorrow. The first FC I had, was when I was 14yrs old I used to drive it around the paddock on our property back in 1980.

So I have always wanted to get one to restore, fingers crossed the one I am looking at tomorrow is good to go!!

Great work on yours, the chrome has come up a treat, just wanted to check what size rims you have on, I mean I know 14" on the back and 13" on the front I was wanting to know the width are they 6" or 4.5"?

Regards

Duncan

Hi Duncan,

Welcome to the Forum, the rims on the front are 13 x 6 and the back are 14 x 8. Hope this helps and good luck with purchasing the fc tomorrow. We had an fc 20 years ago done it up just needed to be put back together, ended up selling it (dont know why). Then i started missing having a fc around so we bought this one for 1400.00 and then because we knew the guy we sold the original fc too, he didnt want it anymore and he didnt do anything to it so we bought it back, but it was too far gone to do up so we used it as a donor car for this new one. ill post some pics on how it looked before we started fixing it up so you can see how it looked.

Dianne

There has obviously been a lot of work happen to change what you started with to where the car is now, well done, love the new chrome work. You have had liking for these cars for many years by the look of it, once they get in your blood, they tend to stay there.

Keep us posted on the progress, not too far off now.

Hi Di,

Cool car ;) what type of paint did you use on the steering wheel? I've tried a couple of times and can't find anything that lasts. I know with any painting prep work is the key and I thought I had this covered, any tips on how you've done yours would be appreciated.
