Title: Muffler Post by: KFH on February 24, 2010, 07:15:29 PM Can anybody tell me what is the correct muffler for an FC. Is it round or oval? Is the outlet offset from the inlet or in the middle on both ends? The stuffed one I took out is oval. around 18" long and no offset for inlet or outlet. Any suggested brand and/or model for one. A muffler place I went to today said he couldn't get one with 1 3/4" inlet and 1 1/2" out let to match the sample I took into him.

Keith Title: Re: Muffler Post by: stapla on February 24, 2010, 10:07:37 PM I was able to get a complete new exhaust system off the shelf to suit FC. Worked out well since I wanted to bolt on the exhaust myself and not get the car towed to exhaust shop.
I cant remember the brand, but I know it was ordered from a perth supplier. It only took a week or so to arrive in adelaide and I think total cost was $300. This included engine pipe, muffler, tail pipe, flange gasket (not flange bracket though) and clamps. If you don't have any luck, try ringing AAA exhausts in adelaide, and asking them the specifics of the FC exhaust. Cheers Peter. Title: Re: Muffler Post by: zulu on February 25, 2010, 12:24:00 AM I tried to get a complete exhaust system from one of our local parts suppliers, Nepean Spares, but after a check he said he couldn't get them anymore.

Muffler was $88 and $55 to bend up a new rear pipe and supply two clamps. Even thou the front pipe was still good I had a new one which I have installed.
