Title: future V8
Post by: Gary C on February 14, 2010, 08:28:22 PM
Probably getting a bit ahead of myself but just wondering is it actually possible to set up my ute now for a bolt in chev down the track. It has a 202 and aussie box. The 202 is out and receiving a freshen up. The disc brake crossmember is also out and waiting for the correct outrigger to arrive. If I were to install a chassis kit and the aftermarket larger tunnel and a powerglide now for the 202 would a V8 conversion later just bolt in. I realise there would still be a lot of work but is it possible to set up the chassis and transmission now for the 202 and later bolt the V8 to that transmission. There needs to be a fair bit of work done now to get the aussie box and 202 correct and I dont want to do it twice. Because I have other projects at the present Iam happy to keep the 202. thanks ,
Gary C

Engine mount location will be different, the crossmember needs modifying  for sump clearance, front mounted rack and pinon, gearbox location will be further back even if you use power glide both times ,fire wall need a little modification on the driver side for head clearance .........FC427........
