Just killing some time waiting for my sedan (engine bay refurb) to return from the paintshop.The ute only needs a couple of things done, wont take long and definately not going to spend any money. Just gunna drive it and enjoy it.

nah,not going in to deep,but I did notice some old rust repairs that need attention. I still dont know what needs to be done with the sump. The 202 is getting a birthday while I muck around with the dodgy conversion.I need it sorted before the sedan comes home (5 weeks) Work is starting to interfere also.

OK my outrigger has arrived and it must be eh I think because it does not have holes for the front engine mount. I have it sitting loose on the crossmember and it protrudes the front rubber by about 20mm, do I leave it or are you supposed to trim it back at the crossmember so it sits flush with the end of the outrigger mount? When I removed the crossmember the front 2 retaining caps were missing, three top mounting rubbers were lower fc mounting rubbers with one correct , three different length tube spacers and one tube spacer missing completely. All of the four bolts were finger tight. No wonder there were a few noises in the front end! Any help on the outrigger would be great thanks,

I'd leave it long Gary, better too long than too short, I know it wouldn't move 20mm but under heavy braking or the front wheels hitting a pothole the crossmember will have some backwards and forwards movement as it is rubber mounted, sounds like whoever fitted the  previous front end was pretty dodgy :o.

Hey Gary, you should pull the front end out of it and cut the outrigger off it, just in case you are wanting to do another HR front end.

Yeah Iam going to grab the crossmember but I was a bit knackered by the time I finished, its the wet season and your sweating your arse off by 6am.

the 202 did one season at the local speedway,we just added a larger solid cam with roller rockers and the su's.
should be a bit of fun.

Thanks Ace, the sedan (engine bay refurb) now has door rubbers and trims and just received my new scuff plates so it is pretty much done.
The monaro is going slowly but is looking extremely neat. I got a hk crossmember and are still looking for a repair or replace bathurst
fuel tank.
