Hi Graham
Shouldn't the tips be blue for a Nasco holden aerial?

Hi Ace,
I am told the originals were Red,but if you know different I'm happy to be corrected.I have an original which Gary Claypole lent me and its red.I will only make 1 colour so we need to decide if its red or blue. And the price would be yes $3.00 approx.
cheers,
Graham :)

:P) I was told this years ago and always thought it was true.

Hi.
I also thought the Holden ones were blue. They did go to Red for the HK HT HG range though. My ute has an original Diamond dot aerial & that has the blue tip (the ute was optioned with the manual radio & the aerial). There is also a Vauxhaul that is for sale down here with very low mileage. It has a green tip aerial, the first one I have seen. I would rather blue & would take 5, but would also take 5 if they were red.

Rob

Hi all,

I have a 1960 fb fitted with a red tip since new but will take whatever colour you are prepared to make Graham as I have just purchased an EK wagon with the tip broken off.

Cheers, Jason

Hey Graham,

I'll take one red or blue.

red to match the car or blue to keep in theme with period..  its modified so isnt crucial anyway!

I have to say that all the genuine Nasco aerials for FE/FC I have seen had blue tips.
It can be very confusing because there were AWA and HMV and other aerials all around the same period and some had steel tips, others had red tips etc.

For instance the guy on ebay who is selling what he states are early Holden aerials with red tips are CERTAINLY not Nasco aerials for FX through EK.
They may well be aerials for early Holdens, but I presume the majority of readers here are wanting Air Chief aerials, or at least to make the aerial they have as clos the an Air Chief aerial as they can

Hi.
A lot of the Tassie cars had metal ball tipped aerials from FE to EK. I have been told it was because they could get them cheaper & dealer installed them when they put the radios in. BUT, if you wanted a NASCO diamond dot aerial, you got it. Paid extra, but it was yours.

Also Graham,
you seem to have the knack for repo stuff. What about trying to re do the radio fascias? The black bits. I would take 2 at least, but probably 4 if the price was right.
