I ummed and ahhed for a year before going back yesterday to the old gentleman's house to see if it was for sale, as it was still in in driveway, but it had been sold.
A 1940's Buick straight eight is such a beautiful thing. Regrets, we all have them... :'( :'( :'( Ol_Girl_58 Title: Re: Toowoomba Swap Post by: FC427 on February 06, 2010, 07:31:25 PM I remember a one owner straight 8 Buick that my brothers mate bought for $120 in the 70's 50,000 miles always wanted one since ......FC427.......

Title: Re: Toowoomba Swap Post by: OldGMHolden on January 16, 2011, 12:16:00 PM Hi everybody,
Yes, the swap meet is still on. http://www.ddvvmc.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=9&Itemid=10 ($2) Although there was some very serious damage to some parts of town, overall we fared very well in general. Cheers, Gaz. Title: Re: Toowoomba Swap Post by: FC427 on January 16, 2011, 03:48:39 PM Great see you northerners in the tent .....FC427......
Title: Re: Toowoomba Swap Post by: FESteve on January 24, 2011, 02:43:32 PM If you're coming from down south, come via Warwick or Goondiwindi as the Toowoomba Range will only be open one lane up and one lane down due to flood damage, and traffic queue delays are expected to be over a hour long.....was 1.5 hours last week at one point.

Any updates on road conditions going up the range?? I am very keen to come up for a look this weekend. MICK Title: Re: Toowoomba Swap Post by: FESteve on February 01, 2011, 02:34:40 PM Hi Guys,
The Toowoomba Range reopened to 2 uplanes this morning, so traveling from Brisbane should be fine - apart from the odd pile of junk broken down towing an overloaded pile of junk to the swap meet that is ! Heading back to Brisbane down the range, there is still only one lane for about 400m (up near the start of the decent). Looking on the cameras I expect there may be a small delay, if a delay at all. The Gore and New England Hwy's from down south are all open. From sunny coast, you can come over via Kilcoy, then Esk and Gatton. Biggest issue is potholes, a few good ones between Gatton & Esk, also some beauties in the more uninhabited locations along the hwys. Gatton - Helidon still closed at Grantham. Gatton - Clifton (Heifer Ck) also still out of action, as is Esk - Hampton. In general - most roads are open, just in very bad shape. Latest image from EMQ today at 1300 suggests If the cyclone keeps on this path all we may get is some showers this weekend. What it will do is finish off (flood) the remainder of the state that isn't affected by floods. It has a span at the moment of 1000km, and due to hit on Thursday. Title: Re: Toowoomba Swap Post by: mickusmickus on February 01, 2011, 05:05:49 PM Thanks for the updates on the roads Steve,
I am also well and truly keeping an eye on the weather, I am in Brissie so will probably leave it till Saturday morning early to decide if I am going to brave it. MICK |
