Title: Trims for Front seat Post by: KFH on December 06, 2009, 07:35:47 PM The trims plastic trims for the front seat have some splits in them however I believe they are quite usable. What is a good method to repair them and what backing should I use behind the cracks? What is the most effective glue to use? I envisage I could fill fill the cracks on the front side to hide them followed by a coat of black plastic paint. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Keith Title: Re: Trims for Front seat Post by: mcl1959 on December 06, 2009, 08:03:02 PM Keith, the problem is the very fine grain finish on the trims, unless the cracks can be glued perfectly you will always see the crack because the front cannot be filled and sanded without looking bad. Roughen the back and use fibreglass is the best way to reinforce it.
