8) Title: Re: Local rag newspaper Adelaide November 11 2009 Post by: NosFEratu on November 12, 2009, 09:20:30 PM I can tell you a little about it - body and paint restoration on it was done recently by Crispin Classic Car Restorations (same metal man that did mine 20 years ago and will also be doing the black FE I posted on my thread the other day). The interior is original (bar replacement floor mats) and in very good nick. It runs slightly wider rims now. It'd done around 90,000 before they restored it.
Her dad sells halogen and led replacement globes for classic and vintage cars - we picked a heap up the other day and he showed us the car while we were there. Her dad also used to own an FC wagon that Ian Hazel bought and re-did for his wife back in the 80's. http://www.classicandvintagebulbs.com/page2.html Title: Re: Local rag newspaper Adelaide November 11 2009 Post by: NosFEratu on November 12, 2009, 09:24:48 PM http://digitaledition.easterncourier.com.au/

Title: Re: Local rag newspaper Adelaide November 11 2009 Post by: Paul In Ireland on November 13, 2009, 01:03:58 AM I am a bit disappointed then. It reads like she did everything with a little help. Kathi makes it sound like the body was done professionally.... Maybe I am getting the wrong impression? Nice looking car tho!

I read it after I'd posted my comments! :-\ I know she was definitely "hands on" in the rebuild but I know that it was a professional job on the body and paint - and yes, Dave is one of her dad's mates. But when was the last time you were involved in a press article where it ended up being 100% accurate?
Anyway, despite the kerfuffle, it's great that another young person, especially a female, is happy to get in there and get down and dirty with cars. And at least she knows more about her car, through her being involved in the process, and will have greater pride about it than if she was just given a car to drive around in like a lot of young kids. So, I think it's great, regardless.
