Title: FE FC Hearse. Do any exist? Post by: EffCee on October 25, 2009, 02:20:44 PM After seeing the "Way to go" thread, I wondered if anyone has a picture or photo of and FE or FC hearse, and does anyone know of any.
I would assume that they were built from either a wagon or panel van by a bodybuilder similiar to ambulances that have been on here Can any one enlighten me? Keith Title: Re: FE FC Hearse. Here's the link: http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/index.php/topic,3124.0.html ($2) The pics no longer work, but I will post a few of them here in this thread. There are atleast 2 hearses still on the road, both FC's. The first has been stretched and is now modified. It participated in the 2nd Nationals at Wagga. (http://www.fefcholden.org.au/forum/attachments/6nathearse-w.jpg) (http://www.phantomcoaches.org/galleries/images/aust16.jpg) The second participated in the Gold Coast Nats and subsequently at Philip Island. (http://www.fefcholden.org.au/forum/attachments/Hearse1.jpg) (http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i28/fefcnats06/A%20SatPhillipIsland/Sat078.jpg) (http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i28/fefcnats06/C%20SatPhillipIsland/Sat219.jpg) This FC was on the road many years ago, and probably still is. I 'think' this may have been a flower car. It would have accompanied the hearse from church to cemetary. (http://www.fefcholden.org.au/forum/attachments/fc-flower2-w.jpg) (http://www.fefcholden.org.au/forum/attachments/fc-flower-w.jpg) There have also been a couple of others that have not been on the road reported over the years. Post by: mcl1959 on October 29, 2009, 09:24:27 PM Not all 2 door wagons were hearses - They were in fact tarted up vans as you suspect - these were a popular conversion in the 60's and they were predominantly used as trradesmans' vehicles. A number of 2 and 3 door panel van conversions still exist.
