I had my eye on it for awhile and jumped at it when he decided to sell. He bought a few good parts and pulled it apart and put it back together again which makes things a bit easier to work on. But as you guys know it ALOT of WORK and Cash to get it back to GOOD Looking and Driving Condition. I was wrapped to be able to start it and drive it onto the car trailer and rego the next day!

I have fitted the 173 Red and new H/D clutch to the Grey gearbox. EH H/D wide radiator is fitted as is the EH complete diff ass. HR Disc Brake front end is fitted and I have use the complete brake line setup from the EH donor car where f/end came from. Body work is progressing as fast as possible with rear quarters, rear panel, and RHF guard all stripped and repaired. I am trying to get the Fe back on the road asap to allow the painter to get on with his project.... an EH sedan. I will be stripping the doors and boot lid at a later date. Hope to post pix soon, Hobbo.

The paint comes off pretty easy but the red oxide and RUST is like diamonds ! The trick is to keep moving to reduce overheating the panel. Needless to say I have to use HI Build undercoat !
Title: Re: Hobbo's FE Sedan Post by: HAMFIST on November 15, 2009, 07:01:12 PM sounds abit rough on the steel iam using strip discs for the angle grinder takes all paint and rust of and doesnt leave any marks in the steel the discs are made of plastic and can be bought from most places i swear by them and i only have to use regular etch primer to cover it

Hey It Drives Great ( only around the block ) Motor, Clutch, Gearbox and Diff all Good. Brakes work well and even the Booster is working good ! Can't wait till its finished. I decided to change the colour back to something more classic looking. I will be putting it back together on Friday and expect to have it back home where I'll be putting the finishing touches to it.
