Title: repco highpower head Post by: Gary C on October 14, 2009, 07:47:58 PM Does anybody know anything about the head advertised in vintagespeedway its in melb and he wants 10k, Gary C
Title: Re: repco highpower head Post by: Dave88 on October 15, 2009, 01:25:25 PM Not sure of the history behind this particular head, but I know it's a genuine sale.
If I had 10k to spend on a crossflow head I'd be opting for a reproduction one. The originals tend to be prone to cracking and a few of the heads I've seen have casting flaws. The reproduction heads have addressed these problems If heritage is what you're after though - original would be the go Title: Re: repco highpower head Post by: Gary C on October 26, 2009, 09:31:40 PM Dave, is there a repro crossflow head as you mention, if so where are they and has anyone here got one?

Title: Re: repco highpower head Post by: fj bob on November 08, 2009, 12:07:24 AM where is the link - i want i repco highpower... 10K seems quite reasonable as long as it is all there. - ask chris m (a member - got ya).
it seems to have evaporated. at sandown today i saw one behind a grouped up sports sedan - ah the sound of a grey working the crank as it should.... i recall hearing a speedway midget doing the same many moons ago. i believe the tassie ones are a few months off - albeit replica's. 5.5K as per other sites. - dont know what that includes however. After having made an offer and having the head inspected, the seller genuinly withdrew it from sale. It is to be used again in a family racing history project to be resurected. The seller was genuine and I wished him well with the proposed project, albiet I still have first option if it does not go ahead.

call me rude but what did you offer??? whats his name and what does he race??? Dis you see it yourself - does a genuine article still exist??? do you know where it is destined to go??? what state was it in- I understand melb - is that correct. I know of one from batesman bay - he says complete engine - unsure of asking price... Another repco from WA sold for over 15k and that was in the back of an unrestored ejah nigh on 6 mths ago - be interested to know what one could go for... What I offered is between myself and the seller (as in any negotiation) His name will remain silent and he does not race anything at the moment The article does indeed exisist and I had my son who lives in Port melbourne inspect the head and send me the photo's It is destined to go back into an historic speedway vehicle based on a nedllo chasiss which was built by this mans late father and his uncle It is indeed in Melbourne (south east) If you know one frome Batemans Bay I would be interested in the details PM if you could I had not heard of the one from WA They go for lots of $$$$$'s ;) regards Weddo Title: Re: repco highpower head Post by: fj bob on November 12, 2009, 10:26:34 PM pls say they do exist...
my passion hopes for it. Ensure history- those that were speedway needed to be treated. 13k = sale as per WA markets. Keith Title: Re: repco highpower head Post by: Shayne on November 12, 2009, 11:08:29 PM FJBob, if you see any more for $13K, you better snap them up!
