After seeing lots of shots of cars on rotisseries (and still unsure of the spelling). I was wondering.. how do you get the car up onto the rotisserie, and how many people does it take? And forklift... For me anyway... LOL I think the other couple of ways would be lots of bodies... Or a jack one side at a time and then elevate the jack and go again, but you would need lots of supports for the job. I think that if you got the rotisserie made with the holes cut to mount the shell the 4 guys should be able to lift the shell and you put the bolts in to start it off in to position. what does a bare sedan shell weigh??? I got mine up the hard way, I used two pieces of 4x2 (100mmx50mm) one under the front and the other under the back and continued to work each corner up until it was at the desired height. I then attached the rotisserie and let it down and removed what I used to lift it up with. I used a bottle jack as the tool to lift it up, sliding blocks of wood, tyres and whetever else that I had available that i could put my hands on. Keith Title: Re: Rotisserie - lifting the car? Ed , I used the high lift jack from my lux. By myself and very carefully, one notch at a time. It worked , the ute is on it now. Rusty |
