Title: What springs for SBC and HR front end
Post by: earlyholdenfan on September 24, 2009, 04:28:17 PM
Hi all, just wondering what springs I should run with a SBC and a HR front end, will the standard height ones compress too far under the additional weight? is there a heavy duty set I should order? what is everyone else running, also same for shocks, anyone have recommendations?
Matt

Matt,
I ran 1.5 inch lowered Heavy Duty springs by KMAC with HR drum brake stubs, sat pretty low with a 308... but I like them low.  Could run 185/65x14 with no scrub.

Cheers

Thanks guys I will probably get a set of std height H/duty ones - can always change them later on if I want it lower.

anyone have any ideas on shock absorbers?

Any HR shocks will work, they all dampen the rebound of the spring.

The quality of the shock and the amount you spend is your choice but any will work.

Koni make a nice double acting adjustable shock for HR front end only down side is to adjust it you have to unbolt the bottom full extend it and then rotate to adjust ........FC427.......
