Title: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: 4hammers on August 30, 2009, 06:29:43 PM Hi All,
after searching & searching for my Stock FE FC Van or ute, I came across a 77,000 mile 1 owner EH ute in immaculate condition. Got lots of accessories, but needs some wheel trims. Had them once, but apparently lost one, so took the others off. Sooo, need a full set of either the Thumprint type or the EH Prem type. Must be good condition & I will pay very well if they are. Please send me an email kombis (AT) bigpond.com.au or pm me. or, call on 0411 811 215 Regards, Rob J Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on August 30, 2009, 08:34:49 PM Bloody Hell, look what the cat dragged in :o

LOL...All good Mr. Stinky. Have travelled far & wide in my car collecting exploits, but have come full circle back to early Holdens :) Sold my 2nd last Kombi on Friday & visited an old fella i have known for 10 years....guess I got him on a good day, because i got his ute :) Wasn't an FE or FC like i really wanted, but man....an EH accessorized ute is a very nice substitue :) How have you been mate? Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: customFC on August 30, 2009, 09:32:24 PM Hey Rob
Nice to hear your back behind the wheel of a Holden. How about a pic or 2. Regards Alex Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: 4hammers on August 30, 2009, 09:35:12 PM Hey Alex :)
Happy to mate. Will take some shots tomorrow & post them up. Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: Ed on August 31, 2009, 11:31:06 AM Hey 4hammers

Lovely to be inside looking out. But, I got some pics..
Original owner...all books...always garaged...never taken out in wet. Never repaired, no rust...EVER! Amazing... I love my new toy!!! All accessories were ditted from new...used to have wheel trims, but one was lost & had trouble sourcing another, so he just took them off. Hoping they will show up in the shed somewhere. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v157/4hammers/EH%20Ute/29082009070.jpg) Picked it up on Saturday...this is washing off the dust...hadn't been out of shed for last 4 years. Still can't believe what's sitting in sheds waiting to be discovered. ::) Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: 4hammers on August 31, 2009, 04:11:01 PM Hey Craig :)
Good to see you are still around too. Yes mate, I can sniff them out. This one (Although I have said it before), is a "Keeper". Have wanted an original unrestored Commercial for a very long time. But it had to be perfect. Tall order and I didn't get exactly what I was after "FE or FC), but the EH fits the bill very nicely indeed :) Rob J p.s. Say G'day to Fast Eddie for me...tell him I got 2 of those Barn find cars, but couldn't jimmy the Elfin out of him....yet ;) Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: CraigA on August 31, 2009, 08:12:20 PM The place is certainly a bit quieter without you around Rob ;D
I'll be seeing Ed on the weekend and will let him know you said hi. He's a bit of a lurker on here so might respond himself. He has got his hands on an ex Group C Commodore now so I'm not sure he even remembers what an FC is :P Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: 4hammers on August 31, 2009, 09:09:19 PM Did he get his Wagon finished? I would loooove that wagon.
Group C!! Big banger :) Man....that would be like a VB or VC, right? Would like to see that... Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: CraigA on August 31, 2009, 09:17:31 PM Wagon still under construction. The laborer has had some time off 8)
MUST be finished for Orange Nats so have to pull the finger out soon. Ed's Group C car is one of the STP Commodores, it came 4th at 1984 Bathurst. A really cool thing to own. He'll tell the story. Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: frank on September 01, 2009, 08:02:43 PM Sorry, no wheel trims, but that is one very impressive EH ute ... an excellent find and am very jealous, is it a 179 or 149? Obviously no point trying to elbow my way into your Will I guess ...
If you're keen and don't have one, I have an EH handbrake warning light (switch and leads as well) for sale ... PM me but if you don't I'll hang onto it. cheers frank Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: 4hammers on September 01, 2009, 08:57:00 PM Hi Mate,
Factory 179 :) Thanks, but my boy has first dibs! Thx for offer of the light, but I am only going to add a fan heater & the trims it is missing. Can be drilling holes in that beautiful dash ;) Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: frank on September 01, 2009, 10:04:38 PM Hi
ah well, no harm in asking! and yep, understand perfectly not wanting to drill. The factory 179 in an EH ute makes it even rarer ... more pics would be nice but I've been told to wear a bib! cheers frank Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: mcl1959 on September 02, 2009, 05:53:39 PM Rob - I would have thought the EH trims currently on ebay would have been correct for the ute rather than the premier version?
Ken Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: 4hammers on September 03, 2009, 08:05:49 AM Will have a look, but there are a few sets listed there as EH, where in fact, they were HD HR. TBH, I am not really sure what trims would have been offered for the ute? He told me they were chromed steel, not aluminium. So I just assumed Prem. I do however, have a soft spot for the thumbprints from the EJ & if i could get a set, would grab them.
Will have a peep on eBay now. BTW, good to see you still around Ken...still waiting for that book, mate :) Rob Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: mcl1959 on September 03, 2009, 08:13:34 PM Still working on the book - The ones on ebay are chromed, not aluminium. They are the ones which would have been on a Special or standard as an accessory.
Ken Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: 4hammers on February 28, 2010, 06:16:05 PM Gah...Seems in my time away from Holdens, stuff has gotten rather rare or stashed away. I decided on some Thumbprints, although not original, they look cool. I visited the old guy & found the original toolkit & towbar :)...But thats all...not trims. I quizzed the guy & he seemed to think they were just round trims...not with prints or Prem style (Again, you seem to be correct, Ken). But love the thumbprint look.
Anyway, still loving it...here is a link to the photobucket site....fitted some white band tyres...they look cool :) http://tinyurl.com/ykr5g62 Title: Re: WTB Nasco accessory wheel trims (Thumprint or EH Prem type) Post by: 4hammers on February 28, 2010, 06:18:07 PM BTW, I drive this baby daily :) Have met some many people who come up & chat when they see it. Drive old cars= Fun.

Nice, but too far from what i am after. Thx for the heads up tho, mate :) Brett, yes mate, back...kind of. Got sick parents, so time is tight on forums. I have a few cars, but only Holden is the ute atm...BUT, in the process of purchasing a 1 owner factory Black EJ Hyrdamatic Special :) Cant wait...that will be my daily, while the ute goes away. Res;ray, lowered & fat rims with beefy tyres....niiiice. Very, very sluggish (= Hydra), but cool. I have sent that PM, mate. 1 is at least a start :) Regards, Rob J |
