Title: Sunvisor green ?? Post by: stapla on August 26, 2009, 10:13:26 AM Hi All,
I'm still chasing a color name or sample of the sunvisor underneath green. Anyone got any ideas on even a close color ? Even a photo might have to do since I'm getting desperate !! Cheers Peter. Title: Re: Sunvisor green ?? Post by: Maco on August 26, 2009, 10:53:28 AM Hi Peter,
Have you done a search 'sun visor colour' ??? ??? I think this will help. Cheers John Title: Re: Sunvisor green ?? Post by: stapla on August 26, 2009, 12:14:58 PM Thanks for the search tip Maco
I had done some searching on the forums but never found a color name. I also chased a guy at Kennys Auto Paint at Carramar that had mixed this color before. He has since left but I tracked him down to a holden dealer. He couldn't help with the exact color name and didn't have a formula either. Using that exact search term I have now found a photo here http://fefcholden.org.au/forum/index.php/topic,11789.0.html Also I found threads with different suggestions. Airfix M-18 or Airfix M-8 which appear to be model airplane paints. Like the green on FC Commericals Like the flat green school chalkboards Matt Green with a tinge of Blue Title: Re: Sunvisor green ?? Post by: Geoff_K on August 26, 2009, 01:02:32 PM The underneath does not have to be green.
My Elk Blue FE has a dealer fitted visor, with the underside Teal Blue. Works well, never ever thought about the underneath colour, until someone asked, then looked and realised that my Desert Tan FE had green underneath, both fitted and painted by same dealer (at about the same time - spring/summer of 1956-57) when all accessories added to cars. The black is easiest to do since it is just matt black. The green has to be colouir matched but is also matt finish. Unfortunately I don't have any sunvisors so can't help with colour - are you in a club? Rock up to one of your club runs and check out a few of the cars.
