Title: Al fresco Meeting... Post by: RET on January 16, 2003, 02:25:12 AM When we arrived at the club-house last night, we discovered that there was no power or running water. Indeed, there was no floor or windows and the walls were in a fairly parlous state.....
Thank you so much HRSC for not letting us know before-hand. You'd think after 3 years of paying $30/night they could have found 30c to give us a call and let us know the hall was 'unavailable'. cheers RET Title: Re: Al fresco Meeting... Title: Re: Al fresco Meeting... Post by: Hewart on January 16, 2003, 04:04:09 AM The only thing I was thinking, was that "they" may not know either... depends I guess when it happened... :-/ which may answer why they didn't ring..??
Title: Re: Al fresco Meeting... Post by: RET on January 16, 2003, 04:32:53 AM Oh they'd know. They have a poor track record when it comes to contacting their tenants - we were never told the time the place was vandalised and the locks were changed either. They happily bank the cheques though :(
Title: Re: Al fresco Meeting... Post by: slim on January 16, 2003, 09:21:01 AM Maybe we should forget to tell them we have changed our meeting venue, or would that be bringing us down to there level? :o

Title: Mechanics?..... Post by: Brendan Tinson on January 18, 2003, 07:28:54 AM Hi all,
I have spent the last 18 months toiling away under my FC ute and I've got the HR front, diff and brakes in, a 202 and trimatic and a 3/4 chassis kit. I have now moved to Sydney and while I was moving the furniture out someone stole my tools. In any event I don't really have a good place to work on it up here and I was wondering if anyone can help with a trust worthy mechanic to finish off the job ie brake booster and the rest of the braking system, gaps and tuning etc, basicly finishing the job off. I would prefer it was in Canberra as the car is still there, but Sydney would also be fine. Beano Title: Re: Al fresco Meeting... Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on January 19, 2003, 07:04:18 AM Not sure what you have planned for future meetings, but the Street Machine Assoc of SA holds its meetings at a centrally located pub on a quiet Monday night once a month.
Members are welcomed to come an hour before the meeting for dinner. There is a private room that is made available (at no cost I believe) and it is a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. If you could find a willing pub you could save $30 a month. Title: Re: Al fresco Meeting... Post by: Cat on January 22, 2003, 02:57:40 AM Holy mackerel! If that's what happens when I forget a Club meeting you're going to see me at every meeting forever! Have we actually found out what, when, and who happened to it?
Hey ret, I could find out how much the Youth and Community centre at the Glenmore Park Town Cetnre would cost to hire if you like. There's plenty of parking there.... Cat Title: Re: Al fresco Meeting... Post by: RET on January 22, 2003, 03:46:03 AM I don't think you, Kev and I make up a quorum to get that voted in. It would be nice though... Plenty of food too...
