Been searching tonight through past posts about this very topic and have been unable to find the answers I am looking for. This weekend I plan to remove the standard VS V6 diff from my donaor car and look at fitting it to my fc sedan. I was hoping someone could pm me with the details of how this was done and preferably with the dimensions used when cutting the axle tubes and housing etc. I know its a long shot but If someone could reply to this topic or email me at kerrmit@bigpond.com with as much of a step by step procedure possible it would be appreciated. Just need to get the diff under the car so I can move it and get rid of the donar car from my shed. Thanks in advance. Jason Think I might be biting off more than I can chew. lol. If you cant do it then you will need to get it to someone who can. They will need to shorten it and put on the mounts for the spring hangers. When i did mine in the van I swapped the short axle over, and shorten both of the tubes to the required at the time, sorry i cant remember the length and the had one axle shortened to suit... This was the cheapest option. Alternatively you can buy one already done from V6 conversions for around $900. i am not sure if this is change over or not though sorry. Cheers Jason. Title: Re: Shortened VS V6 Diff Post by: gwuthie on July 20, 2009, 05:14:49 PM I was under the impression that if you used two short axles and tubes that the overall wheelbase width would end up approx 20-40mm narrower than the standard banjo.
I'm not 100% on this so if it's incorrect then someone feel free to correct me! Getting it all aligned would be the hardest part. gwuthie |
