Title: further question on steering racks Post by: gwuthie on June 30, 2009, 02:25:25 PM It's mentioned allot about the poor angles associated with the rear mount rack.
Is this due to it being mounted too high? or not rear enough?? FC427- you mentioned bending steering arms (or was it tie rods). In what way do you bend them, up/down or in/out. great site. cheers gwuthie Title: Re: further question on steering racks Post by: mcl1959 on June 30, 2009, 04:26:14 PM Boy this is going to be hard to describe without pictures. Very roughly without going into a lot of detail, the swivel on the rack end needs to be in line with both the pivots of the lower wishbone and be as close as possible to the wishbone nut. And if you draw a line between the lower ball joint and the steering arm end, then continue it rearwards, it should intersect with a similar line drawn from the opposite wheel exactly at the diff centre.
