Title: Tyre size
Post by: Harley on May 26, 2009, 01:19:09 PM
I'm unsure as to which tyre to use 185/80 Kumho white wall, 185/80 Sumitomo white wall, 175/80 GT black wall.
I'm thinking the 175/80 profile may look a bit small in a ute wheel arch. Whats your opinion

There has been lots of discussion on this and common consensus says that 185's are best

175/80 reduces the rolling circumference of the tyre, which means revving harder to achieve the same speed and an over-reporting speedo.

185/80 is a reasonable approximation of the original 6.40 crossply's r/c.
