There should be a grub screw holding it on.

Get a big claw hammer and lever it off.

Before you put it back on, you will have to turn it over and loosen the small grub screw.

find the grub screw?

If all else fails you could get the oxy out, heat it till it glows bright red, this will allow the know to expand enough to release from the seat lever, (will more than likely set fire to the seat) Better to remove the seat as you don't want your car to catch fire.

Once off, cool, then loosen grub screw for reinstallation.

(May as well get it rechromed too as there won't be any chrome left on it)

 ;D ;D

I've always done it this way -
1.  Hold the allen key in a vice attached to work bench.
2.  Place the grub screw in the seat handle on allen key* and turn as far as possible.
3.  Lift screw off allen key, rotate the job and repeat step 2.
4.  Keep repeating step 3 as many times as necessary.

To reinstall do these steps in reverse.

*  Removal of the seat from the car first is entirely optional. ;)

Cheers
David

You need an allen key that turns in the other direction for that side.

Come on guys - stop taking the piss out of the bloke - all he wants to do is remove his knob.   ::) ::)

The correct way to do it is :

pull it very hard ( maybe a couple of pulls ) and you should feel it when it happen and releases..... so keep pulling until it happens ... :o :o

Don't forget to cough as you pull on your little Allen Key. It'll come easier.

The spacers go behind the 2 screws on the upright sections.
The screws pass through the middle.
