Title: Complete Novice.
Post by: hrpremier on April 30, 2009, 03:00:36 PM
OK. Plan to attack the fitment of the VS fuel tank into the boot of my FC sedan over the next week or so.  I plan to cut the boot floor out and replace it with a new sheet of 1.9mm and the cut the insert of the fuel tank out so the tank lip sits over the insert.  Then bolt the supports from underneath into place.

The question is what grade and kind of steel have people used to do this before me.  While ur at it is this how others in the know have done it or is there another way.

Thanks all.

Jase

Jase 1.9 mm  seem a bit excessive 1.2mm would be more than ample ....if you do a search there are a few photos around when Dean [Smithy ] from ACT  did the conversion that may help you get a few ideas how to go about it hope this helps........FC427......
