Post by: clive on June 09, 2000, 12:00:00 PM
anybody have info on unleaded fuel in grey motors.?  just had a grey rebuilt and forgot to worry about unleaded.   have read issue 112 in restored cars.   is it a case of just modifying the head, valves etc?  is the western aussie lead free super ok in a grey?  any help appreciated  clive     cruddick@hotmail.com

the lead replacement petrol used here in the West doesn't appear to be as good as the old leaded petrol.  There has been reported difficulties with starting, idling and general running off colour.  It is from all accounts premium unleaded with an additive to lubricate valve seats.  I have taken to using BP racing 100 (I think that's the name of the fuel), available from some BP service stations as this is avgas, high octane and highly leaded.
